Email From Amazon Saying We Can’t Sell Toys is A Glitch or A Sign of Hacking-Do Not Panic

Many FBA sellers received an email this morning saying that they were not permitted to sell toys for the holiday. “We are writing to let you know that your seller account does not currently meet some or all of the following Holiday Selling Guidelines for the Toys & Games store this holiday season”. Read the LAST sentence, “Please note that your orders that use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) will not be subject to the holiday season shipping requirements.” So FBA sellers are OK but was this a hack or just more Seller Support malarky?

One or our members has reported that amazon says this is “not sent by Amazon. We recommend that you delete it.”

So, was Amazon hacked? We are not sure. I sent this message to Amazon to learn more.

Please keep checking this post throughout the day. We will update it as we learn more. Email¬†([email protected]) with your own updates.

UPDATE: 11/1

Amazon sent out a retraction. It wasn’t a hack, just the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing. A mistake.

“Dear Seller,

We apologize for sending an email that incorrectly stated you are ineligible to sell in the Toys & Games store during the holiday season. We are sorry for this mistake.

To clarify, your seller account currently meets the following Holiday Selling Guidelines for the Toys & Games store”
